Bad Girls Go to Sturgis
March 31, 2007 by maureen.ulrich.
I am currently working on an adult murder mystery, which takes place in Sturgis, South Dakota during Bike Week. My husband and I have been there three times for the rally and hope to return this year. We have met so many interesting people and come home with so many stories that I thought I would use them as a springboard for a novel.
Maria Kennedy, my main character, is looking for information about a teenage girl who went to Sturgis the previous year and ended up dead of a drug overdose. Maria’s search results in encounters with tattoo artists, urban bikers, and motorcycle gangs. So far I have about 140 pages in print, but I have a long way to go!
