Maureen, I love your description of learning to skate with a team! I took skating lessons with my youngest son when he was five — he learned to skate and I still can’t. Maybe that’s why I’m so hooked on snowmobiling. At least I can do that well.

Just to clarify - in your history of the Rally, first paragraph, Pappy Hoel had an Indian Motorcycle dealership, not a Harley dealership.
Third paragraph, the intention of the Rally was not to compete with events held in surrounding communiites, rather there was a concerted effort to not compete with those. The dates of the Rally were chosen so they would not interfer and draw from the exisiting events in neighboring communities.

Those people calling themselves serious KISS fans were misleading you. The first part of KISS’ set at Glencoe was made up entirely of songs from their famous first ALIVE! album. If they didn’t recognise these songs, they’re hardly KISS fans at all, let alone SERIOUS ones!
